qoutation

I would rather die standing up, than live life on my knees.

The quote "id rather die on my feet than walk on my knees" shows a lot of self expression. That quote was said by Zapata, back in the days there wasn`t privileges for the Mexicans and Blacks. And he meant i`d rather kill for my people than be a slave.

short story

Esperanza Rising tells the growing-up story of the young and spoiled Mexican girl, Esperanza Ortega. She happily lives on her wealthy family's estate in the Mexican state of Aguascalientes, surrounded by fancy dresses and servants. But due to family jealousy, her father is murdered, her home is burned to the ground and she and her mother have two options: her mother marries Esperanza's devious uncle, Tío Luis and Esperanza gets sent to a boarding school in another city, or they escape to the United States. They choose to flee to California to live as migrant workers on a labour camp. Here Esperanza has a difficult time confronting the reality that she is no longer rich, and has a hard time adjusting to the difficult work in the camps.

Esperanza Rising shows self expression because it tells her life. Another reason is she talked about a rose and said their is no rose without thorn. That meant there is no life without mistakes.

Cartoon

Tom and Jerry is a series of theatrical short subjects (cartoons) created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. For Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer that centered on a never-ending rivalry between a housecat (Tom) and a mouse (Jerry) whose chases and battles often involved comic violence. Hanna and Barbera ultimately wrote and directed one hundred and fourteen Tom and Jerry cartoons. At the MGM cartoon studio in Hollywood, California between 1940 and 1957, when the animation unit was closed down. The original series is notable for having won the Academy Awards for Best Short Subject (Cartoons) seven times, tying it with Walt Disney's Silly Symphonies as the most-awarded theatrical animated series.

This cartoon shows self-expression because the cat knows that he can't catch the mouse but he knows one day he'll catch him. The mouse will keep waiting.

Symbol

In heraldry, the star is the ensign of knightly rank, and every order of knighthood incorporates this symbol in some way. It has traditionally been used as a mark of cadency for the third son.A number of stars in a row can indicate a scale of varying quality, the more stars the higher the quality. In heraldry, a mullet is a star with five or less commonly six points. A star with wavy rather than straight rays is called an estoile. In Christian art St. Bruno bears a star on his breast; Saint Dominic, Saint Humbert and Saint Peter of Alcantara have a star on their head or forehead. The star with six (or less commonly five) points is associated with law and order in the United States, and forms the basis of the sheriff's badge.

This Symbol shows self-expression because it very interesting & intriguing. It's a very special symbol and shows good effort in anything.

Song Lyrics

Intended as an antidote for the increasingly racially and politically charged climate in the U.S. (and written specifically for Armstrong, who had broad crossover appeal), the song details the singer's delight in the simple enjoyment of everyday life. The song also has a hopeful, optimistic tone with regard to the future, with reference to babies being born into the world and having much to look forward to. The song was not initially a hit in the United States, where it sold fewer than 1,000 copies, but was a major success in the UK, reaching number one on the UK singles chart. It was also the biggest-selling single of 1968 in the UK. The song made Louis Armstrong the oldest male to top the charts, at sixty-six years and ten months old.

This song lyric shows self-expression because It's a beautiful song and it branches out. It's very nice because it reaches and touches your soul.

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you.

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

poem

i feel this is a self expression poem because it is meaningful.when tupacwrote this poem a rose that grew from concrete the rose was supposed to be him.He says that nobody ever cared about him/the rose.

Did you hear about the rose that grew
from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature's law is wrong it
learned to walk with out having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping it's dreams,
it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete
when no one else ever cared.
he also said he learned to walk with no feet.
